Clutter is one of the biggest, sneakiest procreators of general mess.

Even if you don't see your space, your life, or your number of belongings as "cluttered", you may be surprised how much of your mess is made up of... stuff. You may also be amazed by how much less messy your space can feel, how much room you can free up, and how much easier your day-to-day cleaning can be when things are organized.

Rates start at $40/hour, and may vary depending on client needs, severity of mess, length of project, etc.

Basic cleaning of the project space - dusting, sweeping, trash removal, and wipe-down - is included in the starting rate!

BEFORE & AFTER

BEFORE: Game & Hobby Room

I was hired to work my magic on a spare bedroom that, when the clients moved in, was intended to be a game & hobby room where they could store, use, and play with all their many interesting games & hobbies.

Unfortunately, as often happens, the time and energy to make the room what they wanted it to be when they moved in ran out. The room continued to accumulate clutter as it was used, and my clients had trouble finding or using the supplies they wanted and needed.

This is what the room looked like when I started:

This was the room's closet. Not the worst, and already had some shelving, but getting the client's Warhammer 40k stuff a bit more condensed and organized was a big priority for this space, as you'll see in further pictures.

Speaking of condensing & organizing Warhammer 40k stuff: here was some more of it. While it was almost all visible and fairly accessible, it was very scattered and spatially inefficient.

On the bookcase on the right, not only were there a variety of books also used for Warhammer 40k, but also guidebooks for D&D and other RPG's, as well as miscellaneous novels, cookbooks, crafting books, and binders.

Much to my joy, there was already a lot of shelving space in this room for me to play with. This shelf was full of board games, more Warhammer 40k books and accessories, and totes full of painting and crafting miscellany.

There's a desk under there, promise! 😉 In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this desk had become a catch-all for hobby, craft, and writing miscellany of all sorts. It happens to the best of us - but in a room meant for hobbying, it's ideal to be able to use your desk!

The plastic three-shelf unit next to the desk was full of a multitude of awesome supplies - but they were for/from a variety of different hobbies and projects, and it was disjointed enough that it made it difficult to see or remember where everything was when inspiration struck.

The computer desk, while more visible and usable than the craft desk, was still not any fun to sit at or find things on.

The filing cabinet on the left was chock-full in every drawer of a mixture of documents, old schoolwork, writing, electronics, and office supplies.

(Sitting on the corner is my organizational best friend, whose labels you will see all throughout the "After" photos of this project. On this desk, all I labelled was where to put the headphones and misc electronics - in the bins I purchased specifically for this project.)

Two of the four file cabinet drawers looked like this by the time I was through! With their express permission, I sorted all of their papers & documents by category and created labelled folders from the supplies they already had on hand. One drawer was designated for vital documents, and one for personal or storage documents.

All of the seemingly overwhelming office supplies scattered all throughout the room fit in one drawer!

The bottom drawer became a haven for power cables, network hardware, and other electronic accessories - all neatly arranged.

What I'm most proud of about this set of shelving is that, with the exception of two small plastic bins, there were NO organizational supplies purchased for this project. It took a LOT of moving, shaking, and sorting - but these shelves were almost exclusively re-organized and sorted using mis-allocated and creative storage resources that were just lying around taking up room.

& Look at them now! All the shelves are clearly labelled with their intended contents, arranged by easily findable category, and the most frequently used items are placed in the most ergonomically accessible areas.

As an avid collector of Warhammer 40k models, it brought my client a great amount of joy to be able to see almost all of his models in one place.

All of the gaming and hobby books can now be found in seconds when preparing for a gaming session or relaxing night of coloring!

The bottom two shelves are largely made up of writing notebooks and binders of useful documents that were formerly crowding the filing cabinet.

These rolling shelves were initially in the clients' living room, storing an assortment of their most-used items for easy access, since there was no designated or easily accessible spot for them in the game room (let alone a place to store the shelves themselves.)

Told you there was a desk under there! One of the most amazing transformations in this room in my opinion - and would ya believe it, EVERY useable item that had been on that desk is now stored neatly in its place amongst the rest of the room.
